Explore York Libraries and Archives Annual Review 2024-25 - Report - Page 7
Engaging our communities
We refreshed the Community Membership
scheme, starting with a clean-up of the
register and relaunching in January 2025.
Membership grew from 295 to 714 by the
end of March - an encouraging sign of
active support for Explore in York. Over
20% of new members gave more than the
£1 share amount showing that members
are keen to support our work.
Over the next year,
we will deepen
our connection
with members
as community
directors create new
opportunities for
members to meet
and contribute and
we move forward
together.

Building the future
We’re renewing our vision for Explore’s future.
At our annual staff conference we looked at our
organisational values, and began updating them
to better reflect where we want to go next.
Fundraising is now a shared responsibility
across the organisation. During our tenth
anniversary year, we ran four themed
campaigns, learning as we went. Together with
our communities, we raised £34,316 – more
than triple the previous year.
Explore is evolving – with solid foundations,
deeper connections, and a renewed
sense of purpose.
Thank you for being part of the story.
