The impact of being a member
I really enjoy the regular updates and hearing about everything that
Explore is doing across the city. I’m never surprised by the positive
impact the libraries have, but it’s still wonderful to see just how much is
happening and to feel that I’m playing a small part in supporting it.
Having volunteered with Explore, I particularly value knowing the people
and teams behind the service and understanding just how much work,
enthusiasm and commitment goes into making our libraries such vibrant
community spaces. And there are always new things to discover – from community groups
to events and activities for families. Taking my niece and nephew to Hallowbean during the
autumn half-term was a particular favourite!
I think Explore does a fantastic job of showing how much libraries can offer beyond simply
borrowing books.
