Philanthropy successes
As ever, our supporters found creative ways to
raise funds to supplement our public services.
It was another busy year for our Friends
Groups and communities, who worked tirelessly
through their year-round efforts, including craft
fairs, seasonal events and activities.
Thank you to everyone who
donated money or preloved
books to our monthly collections.
A particular success was donors’
efforts to populate our ‘mostwanted’ list of high-demand
titles, bringing popular stories to
life for our community.

Help from our Friends
Another highlight was the fruition of
the Friends of Bishopthorpe Library’s
fundraising initiative to replace its library
windows and fascia boards. The group’s
efforts attracted significant local support,
raising £11,655.20 and reinforcing the
library’s importance within the community.
